| Dorothy's Seat or Tiffin Top located at a distance of 4 km from the central town of Nainital and is a terrace hill top atop the Ayarpatta hill. A winding path of about 4 km from the town leads to this beautiful spot that presents beautiful views of the Himalayas and the picture perfect surroundings. A stonework bench built in memory of Dorothy Kellet, an English artist at a height of 7520 ft above sea level is the Dorothy's seat. Dorothy's Seat is a picnic spot. | Hanuman Garhi |
| Established by Baba Neem Kiroli Hanuman Garhi is of religious importance, situated at an altitude of 1951 meters. At the peak a very beautiful Hanuman mandir is present. Watching the Sunset is very soothing from Hanuman Garhi. Hanuman Garhi can be reached by taxi, bus or even on foot from Nainital. Besides Ram and Shiva as the worshipping deity the temple complex is also houses a temple presiding deity being Lord Hanuman. Around 1950 these temples were built at the instance of Neem Karoli Baba. Shitala Devi temple and Ashram of Lila Sah Bapu are located on the other side of the hill. |

| Land's End |
| Standing at an altitude of 2118 meters, Land's End offers a panoramic view of the neighboring hills and the green valley surrounding Nainital. The splendid view of the Khurpatal Lake is the main attraction of this point. From Barapathar just walk up a distance of one km to reach this spot. The Land's end is a spot marking the dead end. |

| Naini Peak |
| Naina peak is the highest peak in the town, with an altitude of 2,615 m (8,579 ft). And at a walking distance of 6 km (4 mi) from the north end of the town the peak is most favored picnic spot of the lake town. The beautiful views of the distant plains and snow clad Himalayas from the peak can be enjoyed from the top of the peak. A bird's eye view of the lake is also obtainable from here. One can either trek or go on a horse back upto Naina Peak. The road to Naina Peak leads to a pleasant forest of vibrant rhododendrons, soaring deodars and cypresses. 12 kms away from Nainital, on the Naina Peak road, is the idyllic wooded retreat of Kilbury, housing an old rest house. |

| A group of seven lakes called the Sattal is located on the way from Nainital to Bhimtal is one of the major tourist attractions. This place is gifted with beauty in abundance by the Nature. | Snow View |
| An indescribably beautiful and breath-taking picture of the glittering snows of Himalayas can be viewed from the point, so name of the place is Snow View. Snow view is one of the most visited tourist spots of the town. Housing images of Durga, Shiva, Sita, Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman, there's a small marble temple dedicated to Dev Mundi. The point 'Snow View' is at an altitude of 2270 MT and located at a distance of about 3 kms from the town. A spectacular view of the snow bound mountains can be viewed during the months of October and November. The aerial ropeway which is been introduced from the town to the top of the peak and a cable car ride gives a thrilling and an everlasting experience in one's mind. |

| The State Observatory |
| At an altitude of 1951 m on the Manora peak The State Observatory is situated in Nainital around 5 km from the city center. The observatory is now renamed as ARIES, Aryabhata Research Institute of Observational Sciences. The optical tracking of artificial earth satellites and develop facilities for modern astrophysical researches in stellar, solar, and theoretical branches of astrophysics is the primary objective of the observatory. Entry for the public is permitted in the evening. The 6-inch Coude Solar Refractor, the 10-inch F/15 Cooke Refractor, the 6-inch Coude Solar Refractor, the Baker-Nunn Satellite Tracking camera, the 22-inch Cassegrain Telescope with ST7, the 8-inch finder and the 40-inch Carl Zeiss Cassegrain with 1K CCD are housed in the state observatory. |
