Allahabad Fort
Allahabad Fort was built by Emperor Akbar in 1583. The fort stands near the confluence site on the banks of the Yamuna. In its prime, the fort was unrivaled for its design, construction and craftsmanship. This huge fort has three galleries flanked by high towers.
The outer wall is intact and rises above the water's edge. Inside the fort there is the Zenana, Palace of Mariam-uz-Zamani and the 3rd century BC Ashoka pillar and Saraswati Koop as well, said to be the source of the Saraswati river. The Patalpuri temple is also here, this is actually an underground temple, alluding to associations with Lord Rama.
Allahabad Fort is the location of the much revered Akshaya Vat which mean immortal tree. Civilians are not allowed to see this tree. As legends say that if anyone jumped from this centuries old banyan tree he would attain immortality. At present the fort is used by the army and only a limited area is open to visitors.
Allahabad Museum
Situated near Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, the Allahabad Museum preserves the paintings of Nicholas Roerich, terracotta figurines, Rajasthani miniatures, coins and stone sculptures from the 2nd century BC till date.
In 1947 by India's first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated Allahabad Museum. The collection, both reserve and on display, is large and varied and spreads across 18 galleries. Prehistoric and Indus Valley antiquities, stone sculpture, terracotta, bronzes, seals, beads, coins, inscriptions, miniature paintings, Buddhist thankas, textiles. weapons, medieval/irman'i and land grants, documents and the personal effects of Nehru and material relating to the freedom movement are the objects on view include.
Dating from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD beautiful stone images, intricately carved temple pillars and lintels, represent important dynasties, both ancient and medieval. The tasselled head of Shiva arojecting from a stone linga which rortrays the classical purity of Gupta art a blue schist bodhisattva in the image of the Greek god Apollo depicting the syncretisation of Indo-Greek styles and the bejewelled dancing yakshi from Jamsote are the outstanding objects.

Anand Bhawan
The ancestral home of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime-Minister of India and Indira Gandhi, the "Iron Lady of India" is Anand Bhavan, turned into a fine museum. The memorabilia of the Nehru family is displayed in the main building.
Nehru's bedroom and study is the most interesting part of the museum. Rooms dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Moti Lal and Jawaharlal Nehru.
Bhardwaj Rishi
It was ashram of Bhardwaj rishi, who was not only an ascetic, but also a philosopher and scientise 10,000 disciples were on rolls in the ashram. It was visited by Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman while going to forest in exite for 14 years.at present temple of Bhardwajeshwar Mandeva and a temple of Rishi Bhardwaj and Kaliji.
