| Nalanda |
| An ancient university named Nalanda was one of the world's first residential universities located in Bihar. From 427 to 1197 CE Nalanda was a Buddhist center of learning. "One of the first great universities in recorded history" is the name given university of Nalanda. Gupta emperors found the great university in the 5th century with thousands of students and teachers. The university was considered an architectural masterpiece, and was marked by a lofty wall and one gate. Every field of learning is covered in the subjects taught at Nalanda University. The study of scriptures of Mahayana and Hinayana Schools of Buddhism, Brahminical vedic texts, Philosophy, logic theology, grammar, astronomy, mathematics and medicine were also covered in the subjects taught in university. Nalanda is a Sanskrit word that means giver of knowledge. |

| Pretshila Hill |
| Pretshila Hill is about 12 km from Gaya and 10 kms from the Ramshila hill. The Brahma Kund is located just below the Pretshila Hill. People go for the `Pind Dan` after taking bath in this pond. `Pind Dan` is a performance of religious rites and offering donations. The Queen of Indore, Ahilya Bai, built a temple in 1787 popularly known as Ahilya Bai Temple on top of the hill. Due to its unique architecture and magnificent sculptures Ahilya Bai temple is an attraction for the tourists. |
